Thinking of my Father

I love this picture of my Dad, Sam Sassali. It captures his exuberance and love of life. This was taken at Wrigley Field in Chicago. We are died in the wool Cub fans, I guess that means we have a positive optimistic view of life! My used to tell the story of going to a Cubs game and meeting Nat King Cole.

We laughed every time we heard the story because he called him Matt King Cole, then he realized he had the name wrong.

Below is a picture of my Mom and Dad sitting behind the Verdi Club in Rockford, Illinois. I think the puppy my Dad is holding is our very first family dog Toby.
This picture below is of my father during World War II when he was active duty. He was very young, probably in his early 20's. He the sailor pictured on the far right. I love these photos, they make me smile every time I look at them.
Missing my Mom and Dad today, no matter how old you get, you always remember your parents and the influence that they had on your life.
