Anchors Away

Here we go on a much needed vacation. With our house sitter taking care of the dogs and keeping things under control at the house, we made our way to Seattle to catch the Holland America Oosterdam for a 7 day inland cruise of Alaska. Thanks to my sister Maxine and my nephew Paul who gave us a ride down to the dock, we made our way to the ship and had no problems getting on board.
Here is the Seattle skyline as we pulled out of the pier about 4 in the afternoon on Sunday.
First order of business was finding a good place to watch as we set sail in Elliot Bay headed for the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
We did happen to find the drink of the day, which happened to be some fruity concoction in a fancy plastic glass.
Above is the huge rotating globe in the atrium of the ship.
This is the view out of our cabin window. We have a great little deck complete with chairs and a table.
Some sailboats docked in Elliot Bay.
Moving on out, the ship slowly backs out of its berth and we are on our way. Looking forward to a relaxing afternoon and a great dinner in the dining room tonight. We checked the menu, and it looks good! Monday is a day at sea, and we are looking forward to kicking back and enjoying the ride.
