We started our walk today at the Vancouver Farmer's Market which is in the center of downtown on the edge of Esther Short Park. We bought a bunch of fresh vegetables that are farm fresh from local growers. Looking forward to some great corn on the cob tonight.
A picture taken across Esther Short Park. I believe that is the back of the bandstand in the center of the park.
A shot of downtown Vancouver, WA taken on Main St. These are some of the oldest buildings in the city.
Oh, yes, did I mention that marijuana is now legal in Washington State? Here is our handy dandy pot store, open 7 days a week on upper Main St.
We stopped for an ice tea at Starbucks before we headed back to our car. Gorgeous fall day to be out and about on foot. Fun to see all the changes in the downtown section of Vancouver WA in the last 10 years.
Here I am back at Esther Short park after our walk. Ready to head home after the easy afternoon ramble!

Streets Alive
Today we went on the "Streets Alive Loop" in downtown Vancouver. This was a 4.2 mile loop closed to autos for this event...just bikers, walkers, and we even saw one horse. Along the way were booths with activities for kids, and stuff of interest for grownups, as well as food booths and treats of various kinds. We went with Molly and Brandon. Unfortunately Anna was sick today so had to stay home with her dad.
Here's Brandon getting electronically fingerprinted, at a Kids ID booth.
Molly, Brandon and Marlene on the walk. We went through lots of interesting Vancouver neighborhoods, as well as through downtown, and a stop at the farmers market.
And interesting intersection along the walk.
