More Best Shots

My Daughter, Molly let me know how to put more than 5 pictures at a time on the blog...thanks Molly....so here are the rest of our best shots from our recent trip (in our opinion). We took lots of pictures of the Stature of Liberty as we were coming and going on the ship from NY. The one above is one of the best, taken early morning on our return. The two geese shots were taken at the same time, as a whole flock flew by the bow of the ship at eye level. And then the sunrise over Manhattan was also taken close to the same time. The final picture is in Intercourse PA, and speaks for its self.

At Sea!

Today we had a great breakfast at a barbecue place that was right across the street from our hotel. We met some folks from Sydney who are visiting the US for about 10 days. They had some questions about tipping, which we were happy to answer. Afterwards we made our way to the Pier to catch the Norwegian Dawn. It was a pretty easy boarding process, though we discovered there are no laundry facilities and you have to send your laundry to the ship's service. How about $1.95 for a pair of socks? Thankfully, I did what i thought might have been some over packing which will get us through with just minimal things to be washed. We are on our way to dinner. Pictures are from the incredible trip down the Hudson river. You will recognize the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, a Staten Island Ferry, and the skyline of New York. The last one is of Martin at the Java Cafe' on board ship while we waited for our State Room to be readied. Tomorrow is a day at sea on our way to Halifax!

New York Day 2

Wow, it's been a long day in New York City. My Pedometer says we walked over 8 miles! A few of the many things we saw today are pictured above. We did see the Statue of Liberty from afar, however we decided that we didn't want to spend more than 3 hours waiting in a ling to get on the boat so we skipped that part for this trip. We did get to the Brooklyn Bridge however and walked part way across, to get some great views of the city and the East River. We also saw the site of the World Trade Center, and spent some time in Rockefeller Plaza. The picture of Marlene and the beutiful flowers was taken in Battery Park. One of the last things we did today was spend some time looking in the origional old Macy's Department Store...hudge place but they didn't seem to have my size in walking shorts, which is what I was looking for.

Tomorrow we start our cruise!
