Happy Birthday Marlene

Marlene's birthday cake, this year it wasn't smashed!

She is obviously very touched by the singing and the special votive candle to blow out, happy to report she was successful. Let's hope her wish comes true!

Here is Marlene with Anna. It is actually the day before her birthday, but we decided to get everyone together to celebrate early. Anna signed her cast and provided her with a smiley faced balloon. The balloon scared our dog Sailor who stood in the family room and barked at it for several minutes. I guess those smiley face balloons are a bit sinister. We grilled steak, chicken, hotdogs and hamburgers and a good time was had by all.

The Final Days

Our one week vacation has almost come to an end. Friday was my 62nd Birthday, and Marlene got me a fantastic cake to celebrate. One of the best we've ever had I believe. It was a me me me kind of day: Presents in the morning, a Movie in the afternoon, ( Ironman 2) a little shopping for new shirts and tennis shoes, and then dinner at Tads Chicken and Dumplings. Then home for cake.

Today we celebrated memorial day with Molly, Rob, Kids and Maxine. The kids tried out their bikes in front of the house, and we grilled burgers in the back. It actually warmed up a bit and the rain took a break!

It was a great week, sorry to see it end.

Brandon Turns 6

Today was Brandon's 6th birthday. Martin and I went over for pizza and cake this evening. Brandon was very excited but managed to wait until after dinner to open his presents. Anna and Brandon posed in front of his birthday cake which was a giant blue lego. On top of the lego was some of his favorite Star Wars characters and he knew the name of everyone. He got lots of neat things, puzzles, Star Wars socks and shirt; Star Wars characters and a Pop the Pig Game that we all played. Hard to believe that it has been 6 years!

Other photo is of Heartman sneaking into my spot in bed every chance he gets. This happens on the weekends if I get up before Martin for some reason. He is sneaky and gets caught everytime.

Back to work tomorrow, where did the weekend go!

Anna,Brandon & Grandma

Anna's birthday was this week, so yesterday we went to her party, in a park near where they live. It was raining when we left the house, but the sky cleared up by the time we got to the park, and it turned out to be very pleasant afternoon. The photos above show Anna opening one of her gifts as Brandon looks on. The other photo of the kids was taken in front of our house the day before the party with their new shirts we got them from Halifax. The top picture is one I took of Marlene and Grandma yesterday at the party....think it was a great one of both of them.

Today's our last day of freedom before returning to work tomorrow. After 3 weeks off it is going to be a big adjustment to return. Got to work on my attitude I think.

First Birthday

We went to a party yesterday. Anna's First Birthday! I'm sure she had fun, and we had good food, lots of salads, and great Birthday Cake.

I wonder what she thinks ...all these people...pretty paper and Boxes!! Lots of Boxes! And what a great opportunity to show everyone how good you can crawl!!
