A Few Days at the Oregon Coast

We rented a cute cottage on the Oregon Coast this week for a short vacation with the dogs. This is the view from the upstairs living room window. Totally relaxing to watch the ocean and let the stress of the normal 8 to 5 existence slide away. As you can see below, even Guido enjoyed watching the ocean and all the activity below. We had a few sunny days, so we were able to watch some folks surfing which was really neat, since I had never seen anyone actually on a surf board on the Oregon Coast.
The cottage was very cozy, there were two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs with the main living area and a small bedroom and bathroom on the second floor. Everyone seemed to find a place that was comfortable for them and the dogs had a great time.
You see Heartman in high relaxation mode, with Guido patrolling the windows to make sure everything was in order.
Sailor found his spot upstairs as well and had plenty of room to stretch out and relax.
The backyard was huge and totally fenced in by a 6 foot wooden fence. There were beautiful flower beds that has that beach look of easy care without being fussy and perfect. Here you see Sailor enjoying the cool grass and sunny day.
The picture below was taken from the street directly below where we were staying. There was a really great paved path that went along the ocean and was great to walk the dogs. To reach the beach you had to go down a long wooden staircase, it was definitely not something that the wolfhounds were interested in trying. There were plenty of other places for them to explore and run around.
Another photo taken on a walk along the ocean path. The water was really wild, probably why there were so many surfers out .
Below is the Devil's Punch Bowl, it is located on the same path as the other ocean pictures. When the tide is high, the water churns around in there something fierce.
The dogs were exhausted from all the exercise and fun new places to explore. Heartman tried to stay awake, but.....
just couldn't keep his eyes open. This has been a great trip, and hopefully we will be able to come back to this cottage again!
