Victoria BC - Day 2

We started out the day at the Empress Hotel for breakfast. It was fantastic and the wait staff were gracious and helpful. We did manage to confuse our waitress when Martin asked for his eggs "straight up" and I questioned what they referred to as a "whole egg omelet" OK, so I didn't want egg whites. After breakfast we drove to Butchart Gardens and the Butterfly Gardens. I will do separate posts for those two places because they are both incredible. Below is how we spent our afternoon today.
There was a farmer's market happening today. Above is a piece of public art that is in an area directly across from the wharf.

There is the Port Angeles ferry, we will be on that tomorrow morning.

We took this tour boat for an hour long ride in what they refer to as the gorge. We got to see a part of Victoria that most tourists miss. These ferries also double as cabs, dropping and picking up folks all along the waterfront.

We met this mime on the wharf. She became my friend after we gave her a dollar!

This is a statue of Queen Victoria, namesake of this beautiful city. This statue is located on the grounds of the Parliament building.

Here are some of the boats moored in the wharf. We even spotted one that was from Florida, that is a long ride. I am going to work on the Butchart garden post next. It will be difficult as there are so many pictures to choose from!
