Rockford

One of the reasons Marlene came with me on my trip to Chicago was for her to have an opportunity to return to her home town of Rockford IL., and to show me the place where she grew up. We spent a great weekend with her Brother, Jerry and Sister-In -Law Peg, and drove all over Rockford to see the places that meant the most to her.

The first picture is of Marlene and he Cousin, Janice who she hadn't seen in over 16 years. Below that is Marlene and Jerry in front of the Verdi Club, the Italian American club where Marlene and her family spent many happy hours during the years she was growing up. Next is a picture of Peg with their parrot, Zachary, and finally two pictures of the little house that Marlene and Jerry , along with their other brother and sister grew up. A very small house but from what Marlene tells me, one that was full of a lot of happy times......The trees that are visible in the picture in front of the house were planted by Marlene's dad.
