Winter Activities, 2017

Ahh, Retirement...It was worth waiting 40 plus years for it.!  We are continuing to enjoy our new lives, and our family, to include our dogs.

October of 2017 started out with the annual West Columbia Gorge Humane Society dinner and auction, which we are all dressed up for above.

The nice fall weather gave us plenty of opportunities for getting outside.  Martin and the dogs enjoy a stroll over to Parkers Landing, just a short walk from our house.

Although Emmie and Norrie sometimes have their disagreements like a lot of sisters, they can also be sweet  and would be lost without each other.

Towards the last part of October, we took a short trip to Las Vegas.  Above we are getting ready to see Joe Bonamassa at Caesars Palace.

In November Marlene and I went to a "Paint your Pet" workshop, where they guided you in creating a acrylic portrait of your dog.  We were kind of amazed at how well it turned out.

Thanksgiving this year was dinner out at the Grant House in Vancouver.  Great dinner, and no muss or fuss.  And then to top off the day we went to the local casino, and had a thanksgiving buffet there!

At the end of November we tried out a new beach house (to us) in Long Beach Washington.  It was a very cozy little cottage, with easy access to the beach and a very long paved trail through the dunes area.  Above, we are trying out the girls  new raincoats on a very wet walk.

A very relaxing evening in our beach cottage.  The girls adapted very well to the new surroundings.

On Dec. 1 we went to the annual Christmas tree lighting in downtown Camas.  It was a fun event with fireworks, and artificial snow. .. and no rain!

We both continue with our weekly volunteer work at the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society.

Our annual family Christmas party was a success.  Above is Molly and Dan, and below Brandon, and Kate.

Anna was Santa this year., and the girls played at being reindeer.
