We hadn't been to the Zoo for a long time...not since they had built the new elephant enclosure, so we picked a nice hot afternoon to take Max through the cool tunnel, and then up the elevator for a great stroll through the entire zoo.
The Elephant exhibit is great. What a wonderful change of environment for them, with much more space to roam, and a much more enriched environment to keep them interested. Marlene is standing in the new building in front of what they call the "activity" tree, which does all kind of things, to include spraying cooling water on the elephants when it's hot.
Playing with one of the toy's, sort of like a elephant style tetherball.
Martin and an elephant's hind end.....
We did see lots of other creatures beside elephants, to include this magnificent Bald Eagle, and the Polar Bear below.
And a relaxing Cheetah in the shade.
