I went out early this morning and planted the Photinias that I bought last weekend. It was sunny and looked for an hour like we were going to have a beautiful day. I had to dig out the dead hydrangea tree that was there before I could put these two in. These should be better, they are evergreens whose new growth is red and has tiny white flowers in the spring. I am hoping it will provide some good bird habitat once they get bigger. I scared the hawk out of our yard when I went outside. Martin said he found a pile of brown bird feathers when he mowed yesterday. Sounds like our hawk has found something to eat!
