In February we participated in our 7th "Keeping The Blues Alive" cruise in the Caribbean. For the second time we went to Jamaica. however a different port than the first time. Because of State Department recommendations, we didn't take any shore excursions on the first trip to Jamaica, however on this years trip we took a very enjoyable tour of the island which included a stop at a nature preserve where Marlene got to get up close and personal to a Gecko.
In March we lost our Norrie, as mentioned in the only other Blog we've done this year. In April Emmie for the first time, celebrated her Birthday by her self. She turned 6 this year.
It was hard on Emmie to be without her sister for the first time in her life, and you could tell she was mourning in her own way. However in May we took a trip to the beach and rented a great pet friendly house on the beach in Lincoln city. We took her on lots of walks, and Emmie's spirits seemed to perk up. She loved her walks in a new place but the ocean kind of made her a little nervous.
It was a great relaxing trip.
For everyone
Emmie loved looking out the big picture window at the beach, she just didn't like walking near it.
But she loved all the other walks even in the rain, since she had a brand new rain coat.
Things were returning to normal this year, with the return of "Camas Days" for the first time in two years. We took a turn staffing the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society's booth like we had done in the past.
Another thing that came back this year was the Clark County Fair. We got there early this year to enjoy the free pancake breakfast put on by Fred Meyer. It was great to have these activities back in our life again.
