Bathroom Remodel

For the last month or so, our house has had a continual parade of workmen coming in on a daily basis working in our master bathroom, giving it a much needed total remodel.   Although the bathroom was relatively new, it had a some major problems.  For one, it had a significant leak under the shower which had done a fair amount of damage to the sub floor, and had begun to get into the joist.  The second problem was the huge jacuzzi tub, pictured below.  Although the tub may have looked impressive it was very impractical.  It was very awkward and somewhat dangerous to get into, and it was so big, that we didn't even have enough hot water capacity to fill it up.  And  finally it  took up a lot of space that could have been better used.

Pictured below was after the shower and tub were removed, and then the process of repairing the water damage began.

A big empty space where the tub had been.

The beginning of the new shower.  It was made larger than the original one, and a short wall, called a "pony wall" was constructed.  We also had a small seat built inside,

New tile was laid on the floor

The girls were thrilled with all the visitors and they had to inspect the progress on a daily basis.

We made a change from the original design, and decided to have tile on the walls all around the new tub area.

A closer look at the new floor tile, before grouting

And finally the finished product after the new tub was installed, and shower completed.

Another view showing the new sinks and counter as well.
We are very pleased with the outcome, and happy to have the bathroom back.
